This symposium takes place in May every year to contribute to the globalization of Korean theology and the development of world theology by studying Youngsan Dr. Yonggi Cho’s ministry and thought representing the Holy Spirit movement of Korean evangelism. We sincerely desire to develop the symposium for building up the theology presenting the right model of the church growth and the proper model of biblical hermeneutics beyond religious groups and denominations to pastors who do pastoral activities at home and abroad and missionaries who do their missionary work in the Third World. YSTI hopes that the faith of Christians will grow through the church and the growth of their faith will be reevaluated as spiritual resources for the social development, and that YSTI will diffuse the importance and the correct perception on the social responsibility of the church. YSTI continues to put our efforts to set up this symposium as a means of diffusing the right principles of Protestantism by inviting nationally and internationally renowned scholars every year, and studying with them about Youngsan Dr. Yonggi Cho’s ministry and thought on diverse aspects of world Christianity.
Through theological studies that expand the public accountability contributing to the development of the state and society, YSTI wants to spread the proper principles based on Youngsan Dr. Yonggi Cho’s ministry and thought all over the world.
Through the sustainable church growth in the postmo -dernism era, a base of spiritual resources is newly recognized in the globally competitive world. In the symposium, this base will contribute to diffuse the value of God’s Kingdom all over the world, which carries out the act of making disciples of all nations, the globalization of Korean theology and the responsibility of the church about healthy social development that are equipped with the principles of Protestantism proved in Youngsan Dr. Yonggi Cho’s ministry.
